Thigh Lift

A thigh lift can address excess skin and fatty tissue located in the upper or medial thighs. Through this procedure, the shape and contour of your inner or outer thighs can be improved. Also known as thighplasty, this procedure is commonly performed within a plan for body contouring after major weight loss.

Is Thigh Lift Surgery Right For You?

If you loose skin or tissue that has collected in your upper thighs, this procedure may be right for you. Often appearing after weight fluctuations, fatty tissue and excess skin in the upper thighs can be difficult or even impossible to eradicate without surgery.

Dr. Dry offers thighplasty for healthy, non-smoking patients who want to further improve their body shape after weight loss.

What Happens During Thigh Lift Surgery?

Thigh lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure. Performed under local or general anesthesia, the surgery requires about two hours. The thighs are marked before surgery. Dr. Dry then makes an incision on the inner crease of the leg, which allows for subsequent removal, lifting and tightening of the skin.

Before and After Thigh Lift

In some cases, the thighs contain persistent fatty tissue, liposuction may be necessary before or during surgery for best results.

How Will I Look and Feel After Thigh Lift Surgery?

After surgery, your thighs will be wrapped in gauze and tape and a compression garment will be worn for about three weeks to help minimize swelling and promote skin contraction. Surgical drains may also be necessary to remove excess fluid during recovery.

Dr. Dry may advise you to walk around (ambulate) the day after surgery and resume light exercise after about 2 weeks.
